Go there. Have breakfast. Have lunch or have dinner. A couple of months ago we went there for breakfast and it was so good – especially their homemade chili (included in the huevos rancheros) – that we had to go back.
We went there for dinner this week and it was excellent. They have a great selection of beers on tap, and the food is stellar. Especially the sweet potato fries! It’s enough to make me ask, “Allen’s? Who’s Allen?” Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not slagging Allen’s. It’s just that I live in the west end, and Dr. Generosity’s is much closer, and a much cheaper cab ride home should I decide to sample more than a couple of their fantastic beers. And since I’m not a Scotch drinker, I think it’s a pretty good deal!
Leah also enjoyed her meal – Coconut Grilled Tuna. It was a large portion with good flavour, cooked just the way she asked for it.
We will definitely be going back soon in spite of the weird name….
