With all sincerity, I want to know the answer to this question. The majority of people that we talk to regarding our upcoming wedding are astonished that we were able to plan it, and get everything organized in such a short amount of time. With each subsequent person I/we get more and more anxious that we are forgetting something of extreme importance.
Here’s what we’ve got planned/booked:
Wedding venue
Reception venue (food/drinks/staff/music included)
Photographers
Officiant
Limo
Leah’s dress
Invitations
Marriage licence
Wedding favours
Honeymoon destination and timing chosen
No cake needed, but come on, that doesn’t take a year!
Have we forgotten anything?

No cake! That’s my favourite part
It only takes about half an hour to coordinate the wedding if you know what you want, the rest if left to the people hired to cook, serve and perform the ceremony!
Missing from your list…if so desired:
flowers
decorations for the venue
I can’t think of anything else.
Congratulations Chris & Leah!
When Adrian and I got hitched I used the website TheKnot.com to help me with the details. They still have my registry and Adrian and I have been married for 1049 days! Gee and it only feels like 900!
Anyway… here are some more suggestions:
• Work on a list of “must-play” (and “must-not play”) songs for ceremony AND reception
• Decide what style and order formalwear for the men (groom and best man)
• Make a list for your photographer of the special shots you want with special people. Scout locations for off site photos.
• Make sure you are ordering enough corsages & boutonnieres (include grandparents & photographer)
• Buy a guest book (and nice pen). If you have a lot of people attending the wedding/reception enlist a young relative to stand/sit at the guest book to make sure everyone signs it.
• Look into registering for gifts. Include some choices appropriate for your upcoming bridal shower
• Book a hotel room for your wedding night.
• Book beauty appointments (hair and spa treatments)
• Make sure your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance covers your rings and gifts
Good luck … and have fun!
Mona
Hmmm…is it a clothing optional event for Chris? That could be interesting. Although Leah will feel fabulously overdressed.
LOL. No, I will be wearing a fancy-schmancy new suit!
