My Goodness! My Galaxy!

Surrender to smooth and creamy Galaxy milk chocolate.  This is what the lovely buff-coloured package is encouraging me to do – surrender to the divine milky sweetness of the best chocolate in the world!

Since the bar arrived this morning, fresh from England by way of a co-workder, I’ve managed to resist.  As the minutes creep by I can feel myself giving in.  It won’t be long now until I break off a piece and enjoy all the chocolaty goodness that is Galaxy :-)

If you’ve never tired it, head to your nearest candy store and pick up a bar. You won’t regret it.

Jumping Up and Down

ok, I came here to write about seeing not one, but two women sporting crayon red highlights…but now I’ve just seen the beach picture and I’m trying not to jump up and down with excitment in my office :-)

Hooray! Hooray!  We’re heading to the beach.  Only 27 sleeps to go.  Bring on the sun and sand.

A Pony for Christmas

Christmas came a bit early to 185 Legion Road.  And I got a pony!  Not one to ride, but one delightful pony hair squares on my new Coach bag!!!!!

My sweetie surprised me with it last night, and I love it!  I’ve stroke every patch of pink suede and distressed leather, but my favourite is the pony patch.

Tonight’s surprise is the big red box. I can’t wait!

Sunset Boulevard? Back on the Big Screen?

A musical based on a 1950′s film, now becoming a movie?  If the rumors are true, then Glenn Close will reprise the role of Norma Desmond in the film Sunset Boulevard, based on the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical of the same name.  Though, as of October 2006, Sunset Boulevard has not started production.

Not sure if I’m excited about this movie prospect or not.

I love the musical.  I spent hours twirling around the kitchen in Oxford, singing the songs with my girls. And I can still be found doing the same thing today, minus the girls, if I find myself home alone.  What’s not to love about at show that has characters’s declaring, “I am big. It’s the pictures that got small.”

But Glenn Close as Norma?  I’m not so sure.  I saw her on TV in South Pacific. The only thing that saved that show was Harry!

Just as Chris and I headed off to see Rent (the horribly disappointing film, not the fantastic stage production I saw twice), I’m sure I’ll try and convince him that we need to see the new Sunset Boulevard on the big screen.

Until then, it’s the original movie or dancing in the kitchen.

What? Lost her mitten?

It’s not even offcially winter and it’s already happened.  The event I dread each year has come early.  I lost my mitten!  Not both, but just one. With maddening regularity I manage to misplace at least one each winter season.

No amount of cheap mitten buying or attempts to hold on to them seem to work.  Many have suggested mittens with strings, but since I’m no longer 5 I think I need a different approach.

The National Post used to have a Lost Mitten Registry, but it never brought any of my mittens back.

So now, my lovely pair of velvet gloves is reduced to one sad, black dust rag.

My fingers are crossed in an attempt to hold on to a fantastic pair of red glov-ittens.  They’re mittens and gloves all in one!  Hopefully in the spring I can report that they are safely stored away for the next winter.
